CompEx Head of Qualifications

Job description

Are you ready to put your stamp on the future of the global oil, gas and chemical industry? That’s exactly what you will do as Head of Qualifications at CompEx. We are now the recognised Global Competency Scheme of choice for technical professionals working in potentially hazardous or explosive atmospheres – and your strategic vision and expertise will be vital to the ongoing success of our growing international training and assessment activities.

So, if impact and influence matter to you, there’s no better place to be.

Your challenge? To develop a relevant, valid and fit-for-purpose qualifications and assessment strategy to meet the future needs of industry. This will involve more than working with subject matter experts to develop qualification and assessment methodologies and content for the CompEx Certification Scheme. You will use your functional expertise to influence Board-level decision making and handle all aspects of quality assurance and compliance. We will also rely on you to monitor product performance and share best practice in assessment and policy design. And because we operate in a rapidly evolving sector, you will actively drive product innovation and explore ways to improve the learner experience.

What we’re looking for

In addition to a good standard of education, you will need proven and relevant experience within an Ofqual-regulated Awarding Organisation. This must include the ability to lead on quality development, assessment design and evaluation – from managing evaluation teams and conducting competitor analysis to developing policies and processes that meet regulatory requirements. Your strong quality assurance expertise will certainly be supported by innovative thinking and first-class communication and IT skills. Any formal qualifications in Assessment Design and experience of certification schemes accredited to IEC/ISO 17024 would, of course, be an advantage. And if you have exposure to e-learning technologies and professional membership organisations, so much the better.

What’s in it for you?

Add to that the ability to work internationally, including occasional overseas travel, and we can promise you an attractive salary, benefits including a pension and life assurance, flexible home-based working and the kind of career prospects you would expect from a business belonging to JTL, one of the UK’s leading work-based learning providers in the building services engineering sector.
