Few working environments are more demanding – or potentially hazardous – than chemical plants or oil and gas installations.
And that’s where CompEx plays such an important role.
As a subsidiary of JTL, we run the recognised global competency scheme for the protection of oil, gas and chemical workers in both onshore and offshore environments. In fact, over 64,000 candidates have passed through our doors since 1993 – and we’re now looking for an External Quality Assurance Manager to build on our success so far.
This is a role of unusual variety and impact. Responsible for all aspects of quality assurance for the CompEx Scheme, you will ensure that our licenced centres, instructors and assessors maintain the required quality standards so that JTL can maintain robust external accreditation. In addition to conducting centre licencing and surveillance visits within the UK and overseas, you will on-board and support new centres and work with colleagues to monitor performance, control risks and continuously improve the customer experience.
What we’re looking for
Ideally an IEng/CEng Registered Engineer, you must hold an NVQ Level 3 or a recognised Apprenticeship or equivalent. Along with a valid CompEx Certificate for EX01-04 Gas & Vapours or Ex11 Mechanical, you will have an Assessor qualification and proven experience in External Quality Assurance and quality management systems. Your background must include working in explosive atmospheres and you will need a sound knowledge of the IEC 60079 Parts 14 & 17/IEC 80079 36 & 37 Standards. We are also looking for a good working knowledge of International IEC, European, National Standards and Regulations and Codes of Practice for explosive atmospheres.
Add to that your strong project management, communication and presentation skills – and the ability to undertake frequent international travel – and you will quickly make your mark as part of our industry-leading team
What’s in it for you?
In return, we can promise you an attractive salary, benefits including a pension and life insurance, and ongoing professional development.
